Where should i start?

So i recently received a graphite sketch set (metal sharpener, eraser, 2H,HB,B,2B,4B,AND 6B pencils) and a sketchbook from my uncle. i REALLY want to learn how to draw and sketch. i think its amazing how someone can create a work of art wit just paper and pencil. now, where should i start? should i find how-to's online? i really don't know so i'm asking here where should i start to become an artist?
